A Birdie

Evening all.

It's been another hectic week or so here with 2 poorly little ones again, thankfully the worst is over but both are left feeling tired, grumpy and not wanting to eat much :o(...I had it too so I know exactly how they feel!  So this has, again, not left much time for crafting or blogging or much else really......I have had to make do with just thinking about what I want to make instead! So....because I had designed this in my head and thought about it for several days, when I actually found time to sit down and make it last night, it was finished in 30 minutes flat!! Speed crafting!

Here's what I made.....

I used 3 colours of distress ink (iced spruce, evergreen bough and vintage photo) blended onto watercolour paper for the background. Over this I stamped the fab Stampendous Lone Bird stamp using Onyx Versafine. I stuck this to a square Art Parts frame back. The front of the frame was painted with a sage coloured acrylic paint which, when dry, was overstamped with the Papermania Urban Stamp Bird Song using Pick Fence distress stain.  After assembling the frame, I added a gorgeous rose from Wild Orchid crafts, 2 pearly hat pins and a cute little bird cage charm which I dabbed with the distress stain.

I'd like to enter this piece into the following challenges.......

Sunday Stamper - Blackbird
One Stitch at a Time - Anything goes
Whimsy Stamps - No patterned paper

Thanks for looking, I'll be back again soon x

Mother's Day gift

Back again.....

This time with a set of note cards I made as Mother's Day gifts for both my partner's and my mum.

I made a set of 10 using pale pink A6 cards and envelopes using mostly the same ingredients as for the Mother's Day card in the earlier post. I finished each set off by making a box from pearlescent card and acetate to keep them in........both mum's were really pleased with them :o)

I'd like to enter this into the following challenge:

Sparkles Mother's Day or Spring

That's all for this evening......

Thanks for looking x

Life......and a paper rose!

Hello again!
I made this piece after being inspired by the fabulous Hels Sheridan on C & C tv a while back......I've had it in my head to make for a while and finally found the time. I've been making paper roses for quite a while and always use cartridge paper which has a nice weight and texture to it which, when used with Distress Inks, gives a nice grungy finish. I used the Tim Holtz tattered florals die and cut and layered up the rose. I also used a Tim Holtz wordy stamp which kinda sums up life quite nicely I think :o)
I also used Studio 490 Art Parts for the frame and swirly leaves which I inked up with distress inks. The wordy stamp is part of a collection and I think I will be making a few more pieces with the rest of these.....one is particularly apt for the usual (untidy) state of my craft room!!! I'll post that one as soon as I make it ;o)

Back again soon x
