Another pink card...!

Hi

I'm back with another card I made last night!

I made this one following the Woodware May sketch challenge and I will be entering it into their monthly challenge through my local craft shop Japonica here in Exmouth, Devon.

The sketch

I seem to be going through a bit of a pink phase at the moment!! Can't seem to get away from that Victorian Velvet Distress Ink!! I've also used the Spun Sugar DI on this card too....just to make it even more pink!!

I've used my brand new Go Kreate card cutting die to cut the card base which matches perfectly with the Spellbinders Labels 15 die! I've also used the lovely doily lace border die again. The whole card and the layers were inked up with a combination of the distress inks. The fabulous bird image was stamped using Crimson Copper Brilliance ink pad as was the sentiment. A pretty bow using vintage seam binding and a couple of hat pins were added for detail.

A shabby chic clock

Hello!

What a beautifully, warm and sunny week here in the UK. It has helped to kickstart my crafting mojo which has been somewhat missing lately :o(

Today's post is a shabby chic clock which I have made for my craft room.

The wooden clock blank before I started!

Recipe:
Wooden clock blank
Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
Crimson Copper Brilliance Ink
Cream Acrylic paint
Embossing metal
Cuttlebug butterfly die and embossing folder
Flourish stamp (from Sheena Douglass Paint Fusion range)
Butterfly text stamp (from Dimension Fourth)
Pearls and pearl hat pins
Vintage seam binding

The clock face has been made by blending distress ink over white card and overstamping with the flourish and text stamps using the Brilliance ink pad. Pearls have been used to replace numbers on the clock face.

The frame has been inked with the distress ink and then dry-wiped with the acrylic paint to give it a vintage/shabby chic look. Small pearls have been added all around the outer edge.

The butterflies have been made using embossing metal, cut and embossed using a cuttlebug die and embossing folder and then painted cream.

A bow and hat pins were added to complete the look.

This will be entered into the following challenges:

Sunday Stamper - Words
Truly Scrumptious - Pretty in Pink

Oldie but a goodie - Things with wings (cuttlebug die and embossing folder)
Diva's by Design - Fabulous flourishes
Whimsy Stamps - Vintage/Shabby Chic
Saturday Challenge - Anything but a card
Our Creative Corner - Shabby chic

Thanks for looking, back soon x

A pretty wallhanging

Woo hoo ...two posts in one night!!

Here's a little wallhanging I made for my friend Sue's birthday. I made one for myself previously and liked it so much I thought I'd make one in different colours for her.

I've used Studio 490 Art Part leaves and frames, the frame has been painted with a pale aqua acrylic paint and the leaves with an avocado colour. I've then overstamped the leaved using peeled paint distress inks and a script stamp. The sentiment is from a set by the fab Tim Holtz, I've also used his tattered florals die to cut out the flower shapes which I have inked with antique linen distress ink and layered up to make a dimensional rose.....I've then sprayed this with a gold mica spray but that doesn't really show up in the pic. An ideology book ring attached to the back makes the perfect hanging loop.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Color Throwdown - colour palette
Crafting for all Seasons - handmade flower
Paper Pretties - flowers

Shabby chic butterflies

Evening all

Sorry it's been a while....I have had a few problems with my blog since it has been automatically updated to the new interface.......mainly I can't find anything and go around endlessly in circles trying to find everything...grr.

That's it, moan over, now on to this post. It is a birthday card I made for my good pal and fellow crafter Sue.

I've used my fab card blank die from Go Kreate (I bought this about a year ago but they seem to have been discontinued) to cut the card base. The background is covered with a smudging (technical term) of Victorian Velvet distress ink (my latest fave colour) and then overstamped using the same ink and the papermania urban butterfly stamps. I've die-cut the lovely lace and lace butterfly using my fab new Cheery Lynn lacy butterfly and dancing doily border dies from Dies to Die for. I've inked vintage seam binding with the distress ink and tied a bow. A Woodware sentiment, cream pearls and hat pins complete the girlie vintage look.

Hope you like it!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Divas by Design challenge  - Monochromatic
Inky Impressions Challenge  - Use lots of ribbon
