A pink Thank You card

Evening all

Just a quick post tonight to show the Thank You card I made last night for my youngest daughter's carers at Nursery. It was her last day in the Baby Unit today before moving into the main house with the rest of the 2 year olds now she's all grown up!! Both her key worker and the supervisor had a tear in their eye today.......I think she will be missed!!

Here's my card....

I've used all the same ingredients as used in the Easter card post below. This time I've used Victorian Velvet Distress ink (love that pink!!) and a Cuttlebug 'thanks' die.

Thanks for looking, bye for now x

Birthday boats

Evening all,

I'm back again with a birthday card I have made for my other half's Dad. I normally find male cards a little challenging but this one seemed to come together quite easily for a change!

I have used a fab digi image from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps (In the Harbour by Delicious Doodles) and coloured it with ProMarkers in sepia tones. The edges are inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The panel behind was embossed using an embossing folder from the 'Forever Friends' range and then inked with Vintage Photo. I cut the lovely Amira Flourish die from Memory Box in two and fixed it behind the main image

I tied some knots around the panel with some twine and added a sail boat charm, a stamped sentiment and some brads to finish.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:

One Stitch At A Time - Use a digi
Die-ing For A Challenge - Brown and Blue

Thanks for looking

See you soon x

Happy Easter!!

Hello again

Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter, shame about the weather today but hey for us Brits it's typical Bank Holiday weather!!

Here's my final Easter card.

I've used a fab Wee Stamps image (this must be the cutest Easter image I've seen), coloured with ProMarkers and edged with distress ink.

The scalloped circle card shape was cut with grand nestabilities. The gingham backing paper was a digi paper bought from Pink Gem. The ribbon from my stash was tied in a bow to finish.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Quixotic Inspirations  - Sketch
Cutie Pie Challenge Blog - Favourite Cute Stamp
Whimsy Stamps - Use Ribbon

Thanks for looking

Back soon xx

An eggy variation.......

I liked my first Easter card so much I made another using all the same materials as the previous post, plus an egg shaped die! I even remembered to slice a bit off the bottom of the back half of the card so that it stands up ok!! :o)

Hope you like it.... x

A quickie Easter card

Hi all,

A quick post from me today before a trip out with my little ones and their Grandma :o)

I've left it a bit late to make Easter cards and so to kick-start things I have made a quick and easy one.

Here it is....

I have used my new Sizzix card die to cut the card blank, a new embossing folder and a new 'Easter Wishes' stamps. The embossed background has been inked over with Mustard Seed and Wild Honey distress inks (hopefully to resemble daffodils!). The scroll-work panel was cut with a Marianne die. The sentiment was inked with distress inks as before and a yellow ribbon tied into a bow was added to complete this simple card.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog Challenge 33 - use ribbon on your card
Allsorts Challenge Blog - Photo inspiration
One Stitch at a Time Challenge Blog - New  (card die, embossing folder and sentiment)

Thanks for looking, back soon x

More grungey glitz than shabby chic.......

Evening all,

Blogging in daylight? Whatever next.....!!

Today's post is a card I have made to enter into the Woodware Sketch Challenge for April through my local craft shop, Japonica, here in Exmouth, Devon

Here's the sketch...

.....and here's my interpretation.....

a close-up of the lovely Grasses stamp image......

This sketch took me a little outside of my comfort zone.....I had to go large to fit the stamped image in with my idea!!! A whole 8 by 8 inches!!  My usual cards are 5x5 or 6x6 so I suddenly had all this space to play with whilst keeping the sketch in mind.....
I used the Grasses stamp set from Woodware - the main image above the ribbon stamped 3 times in a row and the trailing leaves repeatedly stamped below the ribbon to make a background paper. I smudged (technical term!) Niagara Mist chalk ink over the whole background and then tore and scuffed up the edges before matting onto kraft card . The pink layers were cut with Spellbinders Labels 17 and torn in half, a sentiment (not Woodware) was stamped onto the bottom half and the main image stamped onto the other half to correspond with the background. This was then layered up on foam to give dimension. Glitter was added to the grasses for a bit of glitz and the seed heads were glazed to give a bit more dimension. A pretty bow and hat pins were added to complete the look.
